There is one thing to keep in mind. When you move to a high-output IR element, you’re putting out a lot more heat density. Check your wiring. If you’re jumping from a weak old coil to a high-performance tube, your old sockets might not be up for the task. They can get dangerously hot. Just double-check your amp rating before you plug everything in so you don’t accidentally melt your housing. It’s a pretty simple way to make old hardware feel brand new again.
