
Making Sidel Heater Modules Actually “Plug and Play”
If you’ve ever spent a shift fighting with a PET blowing line, you know that heat is everything. If your infrared energy isn’t hitting just right, your bottles aren’t coming out right. Simple as that. That’s why we built our heater modules to fit the whole Sidel lineup. Whether you’re still running the old-school SBO systems or you’ve moved up to the Matrix series, these just work.
The trick to a perfect fit
When we say “drop-in replacement,” we actually mean it. There’s nothing worse than getting a new part on the floor only to find out the bracket is off by a single millimeter. It’s frustrating. It wastes time. So, we obsess over the mapping. We track every mounting point and connector orientation for every Sidel generation. We also make sure the electrical load is a mirror image of the OEM specs. You won’t have to rewire your control cabinet or hack away at your machine frame. You just swap them out and get back to work. No surprises, no blown fuses.
Power and Heat (The stuff that matters)
To get those PC preforms ready, you need raw power. We use high-wattage quartz lamps to push heat deep into the plastic. The goal here is a concentrated IR beam. It hits the center of the preform without scorching the surface. We use specific coatings to tune that wavelength, which means you can run faster cycle times without sacrificing quality. One quick heads-up, though. When you push more wattage through a compact module, your oven’s cooling fans have to work harder. Just make sure your ventilation is clear. You don’t want your surrounding electronics cooking themselves.
No-nonsense installation
We kept the wiring simple. We use standard industrial connectors, so you aren’t stuck soldering or crimping wires while the line is down. It’s a straightforward process: pull the old module, slide in the new one, and plug it in. It makes changeovers way less stressful. Plus, we used reinforced quartz and housings that can actually handle the heat. These things are built to take a beating in a high-temp environment without warping or giving up on you.
